To perform research within the framework of term papers and theses, a computing cluster operates, consisting of a server with 32 processor cores and a terabyte of memory, 10 productive workstations with a total of 40 computing cores and 80 execution threads through the use of simultaneous multithreading technology, graphics coprocessors for computing using CUDA technology and training neural networks. The cluster includes a unique quantum random number generator, a separate server for the Oracle database, a reliable 20 TB storage system, infrastructure servers, as well as a real IBM mainframe and UPS to ensure the continuous operation of the cluster. For students to work with supercomputer systems and teach methods of highly efficient parallel computing, the resources of the supercomputer center of the Central Collective Use Center of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences are involved.
Since 2002, a supercomputer computing cluster has been launched at the Department of Theoretical Physics of the Omsk State University to carry out fundamental and applied research. At the same time, training of students for work with supercomputer systems and training in methods of highly efficient parallel computing began. For resource-intensive computations, the Lomonosov supercomputer (Research Computing Center of Lomonosov Moscow State University, http://parallel.ru/cluster), MVS10p and MVS100k supercomputers (Interdepartmental Supercomputer Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow http: / /www.jscc.ru), HЗ Cluster Platform 3000 (St. Petersburg Branch of the Interdepartmental Supercomputer Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg http://www.scc.ioffe.ru) using remote access. The scientific team of the laboratory has agreements with these supercomputer centers on the provision of computing resources.
